Happy Independence Day!

We had such a great time on the 4th of July this year! We started off with breakfast at our friend, Jordan Hemsley's, mom's house which is literally the best spot to watch the Kaysville parade. The kids loved breakfast, but loved playing in the truck bed pool even more. Once the parade started they couldn't handle not being able to run out in the road to get all of the candy. Maycie loved all of the dancers, Kingston loved the candy the most, and Kasen loved the horses. The kids ended up with tons of candy, but Mommy and Daddy hid it once the kids went down for naps. At night, we went to the Ashcrofts house for good food, time with family, and for a great firework show that Uncle Scott puts on every year. Mommy and Daddy loved the show, but the kids ended up watching a movie in the car because it was too scary. I'm so grateful for the freedom my family and I get to be a part of every day!

Just had to add in some of our attempts at a family picture. These attempts always kill me! Ha

Kasen Guy Broke His Leg!

Our poor little Kasen buddy broke his leg AT CHURCH! He was sitting on someone's lap in nursery and as he went to get off, he came down on his leg wrong. After making the poor kid sit through the rest of church (because everyone said it seemed like it just scared him, not that he was actually hurt), we took him home for naps and thought it would be good for him to sleep on it. When he woke up, he was still whining and wouldn't walk on it. Jess took him to the Instacare on 400 North in Bounitful, and it turns out that he did actually fracture his tibia in an upside down "v" shape. The doctor put him in a half leg splint, but when we got home, our neighbor who is a bone specialist said he needed to be in a full leg hard cast and to bring him in to his office. Kasen picked the blue cast material but screamed bloody murder when she had to do more x-rays and when she put the cast on him. Once he got a sucker and some toys he started to calm down, but the poor little buddy would not let Mommy put him down until bedtime.

Jess' Birthday!

Every year for Jess' birthday we go up to Snowbird for the weekend, but this year we did that a week before. So instead, I decided to take him camping.... in our house. :) Going with all of the kids would have just been a nightmare, but I know how much he has wanted to go camping, so we did everything we could to make him feel like he was outdoors. ;) We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores, told stories, watched his favorite movie as a kid(The Goofy Movie) in the tent we bought him, and had a late night in there as though we were going to sleep there. The kids thought this was the coolest thing they have ever done, and are now obsessed with Daddy's favorite movie. As a side note, I took Jess(without him knowing where we were going) to get a pedicure for his first time! He loved it, but I loved it even more because when he asks me for a foot rub now, I'll be glad to because they're all nice and pretty. hehe. Hopefully this was all in all a good birthday for Jess because he definitely deserves it. We love him so much and are so grateful for the wonderful husband and father he is to us! Happy Birthday Daddy!
