Bear Lake Trip

Our dear friends Kristin and Derek Schouten invited us to Bear Lake for a quick New Years trip. None of the kids had ever been to a cabin before so it was a very exciting/tiring weekend for them. On the way there, we stopped at Grandma Karen's to get a few extra winter clothes and some food; however, we missed the window for good driving weather. As we started into Logan canyon the snow started coming down harder and faster than I have ever seen. What should have been a 45 minute drive turned into 2 hours and 45 minutes. We pulled over several times and said several prayers, and eventually made it through. The kids were little angels the entire ride and made sure to help Daddy stay calm for Mommy's sake. We ended up getting snowed in Bear Lake and were stuck there for two days instead of just one night; lucky for us, we were stuck with good company. And while we were stuck there, the kids LOVED sharing a room with each other; they didn't go to sleep for an hour one night because they were laughing so hard. We watched movies, went swimming, went sledding, and went four wheeling. The kids loved four wheeling and it worked out really well because all five of us were small enough to fit on to one four wheeler and be close to each other. What a fun trip!
