Maycie and Kingston started their first day of "Preschool" today; its really a joy school but they want to go to preschool like their cousins so we call it that. We go down to Foxboro to a group that Aunt Angie put together with her neighbors. They love that they finally get to take their backpacks and they get to take a toy for show-and-tell in them! Their first day there was not a single tear by either of the kids, but they were definitely confused as to why I was leaving them with some stranger. Ha. Hopefully it'll only get better from here. :)

Jess' Ice Challenge

This summer there has been a big push to raise awareness for ALS, because of this there has been an epidemic of "Ice Bucket Challenges". The way this works is someone "nominates" you for the challenge and you have 24 hours to either dump a bucket of ice water on you or donate $100 to ALS. Jess was nominated by our friend Trevor Burbidge and accepted the challenge at our yearly family Oborn pool party. Jess then gladly nominated Crystal Castillion, Laurie Curtis, and Dave Curtis.

Wicked!

Tonight was so much fun! My dad surprised us with tickets to the Broadway Musical "Wicked"! Its been one of my favorites for years, but to be able to share it with Jess finally was a great feeling! He loved it! And it was so nice to spend some time with all of my brothers and Grandma Jensen. Everyone sure looked good all dressed up; we were "Defying Gravity". ;)

Health Day

Today we had a "Health Day". We ate a healthy breakfast, a healthy lunch, and a healthy dinner. The fun part for the kids is that we talked about all of the different colors that we were eating. In between our healthy eating, I took the kids to Top Hat Video and we rented a beginning yoga video. We put out towels(acting as yoga mats), and the kids joined me in a nice yoga workout. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the kids, but we had such a great time that we will definitely be doing this again!

Kasen's First Haircut

Kasen Guy's hair has gotten a little long, so what better place to cut it than on the beach? :) We put Kasen in a little chair, handed him a sucker, and he sat completely still while Mommy cut his golden locks. He sure looks grown up now with a big boy hair cut.

Warm Weather = Swimming

The last few days have been so hot that we've had no choice but to go swimming! We've gone to the splash pad in Foxboro twice and to Seven Peaks with Daddy and Grandma Karen. There was no parking in the parking lot at Seven Peaks so Grandma Karen parked across the street in a customer parking only spot. Not knowing where else to park, we just crossed our fingers and hoped we wouldn't get a ticket. As we walked back to her car a few hours later we noticed something on the window... Oh no! A ticket! :( But then she opened up the piece of paper and it said, "I noticed your registration sticker was missing so I looked up your car, noticed it was up to date, and printed out a new one for you. Thanks for keeping up with paying your registration! :)" What a nice officer right!?

Tyson's Mission Call

Tyson got his mission call on Maycie's birthday this year. We drove up as a family to show our support in his decision. When he started to open his call, his hands were shaky and his voice was cracking. As he started to read, you could tell he could barely make out the words because the paper was shaking so much. And then he read it... Mendosa, Argentina.... ARGENTINA!! He started bawling and walked over and gave Jess a hug. It was really neat to see him cry because you could tell how much this meant to him. This will be a really neat experience for him and Jess to bond over, and hopefully Jess and I can go pick him up from Argentina at the end of his mission!
