Paris trip! Second half.

For the second day in Paris we made sure to relax a little more for the pregnant one's sake. One of the things we liked the most was being able to tour the Louvre. Our favorite things we saw were: The Mona Lisa, Madonna on the Rocks, The Supper at Cana, mummy artifacts, and tons more. Afterwards, we walked through the amazing Jardin des Tuileries that run from the Louvre to the Arch de Triumph and found a quiet, grassy area to take a nap on; I think that was the best nap I've ever had! We then went to the catacombs and were unfortunately unable to get to Versailles in time. We then took a night time river boat tour on the Seine that was absolutely breathtaking! We also walked the gardens of the Notre Dame and ate at a little French restaurant facing the back of it. One of our favorite things was taking a little break on the Pont des Arts and Pont de l'ArchevĂȘchĂ©, two bridges near the Louvre that are fully covered on both sides by "love locks". On these bridges you buy a lock, write your initials on it, lock it up to the bridge, and throw away the key as to symbolize your eternal love.

On our way home, we took a 24 hour layover in Minneapolis and had a great date night at The Mall of America. We first went to eat dinner at Famous Dave's and I think its safe to say that Jess LOVED it! The we got some ice cream while we explored the amusement park, and finally we went shopping and had a great time picking out good and bad outfits for each other. Sometimes its nice to have a date night alone to remind us how we fell in love at first. :)

Paris!!! First half of the trip.

Jess and I were lucky enough to do a quick last minute trip to Paris for a few days before the baby comes. I've always heard that the French aren't very fond of Americans, but I have to say I highly recommend going to France while being 8 months pregnant; they treated us like royalty from beginning to end.

Thanks to Brett Curtis giving us buddy passes, we were able to take the direct(10hr) flight from Salt Lake to Paris in Business class. Between eating great free food, watching one movie, and sleeping, it seemed like we were there in no time! Our first day there we found a cute little hotel in the heart of Paris, saw part of the Louvre, walked down the Champs Elysees, went to the Arch de Triumph, took a bike taxi to the Eiffel Tower, and ate at a local French restaurant. We loved having some time as an adult couple again, and Jess loved being able to spend some time with his brother Brett who was with us for the first day.
