Kingston Gets Stitches

At cousin playgroup today at Grandma and Grandpa's, Kingston and Boston were playing in the TV room and Kingston fell and hit his head on a round end table. Boston ran to me yelling Kingston got hurt really bad, and my heart sank! As I ran around the corner, there was blood all over his face. I picked him up and ran him to the sink to find that he had a 2 inch by 1 inch gap right above his eyebrow. We quickly jumped in Aunt Carly's car, leaving Maycie and Kasen with Aunt Crystal, and headed for the emergency room.
Upon arriving in the emergency room, we couldn't keep Kingston awake, so the doctor wanted to do a CT scan to make sure he didn't have any brain bleeds, etc. The scan looked good so we moved forward with calling a plastic surgeon to come stitch him up in the best way possible to avoid a large scar on his face. It took her a good 2 hours to get there, so in the meantime Daddy was able to come relieve Grandma Laurie who then went to relieve Aunt Crystal; oh the joys of multiple young children. ;)
Once the plastic surgeon got there we had to have 4 of us holding Kingston down so she could clean it and stitch him up. The poor kid couldn't breathe in between all of his hard sobbing. Luckily Daddy brought him a Keva Juice for him to have when he got done so that bribery was literally the only thing that got us through it. It took 4 layers of stitches and the surgeon said somewhere between 30 and 40 stitches. But as soon as she was done and he got his Keva Juice, he was the happiest camper around!

Tori's Birthday!

This year Jess gave me a pretty awesome birthday celebration! We thought that baby was going to come right before my birthday so we were trying to squeeze things in, but then she never showed up. Ha. So he ended up just continuing the celebration for nearly a week! We went to Crystal Hot Springs, Uncle Jeff's in Tremonton for a yummy dinner, Jungle Jim's, one day we went to Lagoon, one day we went to Olive Garden for dinner, we had a play date with cousins, we had friends over at our house one night, my family and Kelcie came over for cake and ice cream, but best of all... Jess surprised me with tickets to the Ellie Goulding concert!! So Grandma Janee watched the kids while we pretended we were young again and not parents of 3 1/2 kids. ;) When we got there to get our tickets, they upgraded us to the pit, meaning that we were literally 10 feet away from the stage! It was such a fun concert because the opener was Bebe Rexha whom we didn't know before, but when she started playing we knew nearly every one of her songs! Then of course Ellie was amazing and just made me happy and forget about all the craziness going on in our lives. It was the perfect birthday, especially before our lives were to change so drastically. I sure got lucky with such an amazing husband who shows me his unconditional love constantly!
