For the past few years, Jess and I have been trying to juggle going to all of our family parties for every holiday. This year we decided that we were going to start splitting holidays evenly. This year was the Jensen family Thanksgiving, and because our house has a slightly bigger kitchen we decided to have Grandma Karen and the uncles over to our house. This was my first time ever cooking a turkey and boy did it turn into a disaster. Thanksgiving dinner took hours and hours of preperation the night before but also the morning of. We woke up at 5:30 am and went Black Friday shopping and came back to start the turkey by 6:30 am. We were able to make stuffing, a beautiful ham, mashed potatoes, home made apple cider, corn, jello, and homemade rolls. However, by the time everything was ready to eat, the 21 pound turkey was only half way done. So we ate Thanksgiving dinner around 3:30 pm and the turkey wasn't done until 5:00 pm. We ended up having left over turkey and gravy for the next two weeks for lunch and dinners. Luckily, Kasen was able to relax the whole day away.
