Mommy LOVED watching Maycie during Woods Cross' mini cheer clinics this year! The Woods Cross Cheerleaders held clinics on August 14th, 19th, 21st, and 27th, and the girls were able to perform during half time of the football game on August 29th. Maycie had a little friend, Addalie Burbidge, that would take her hand and walk over to the big girls with her. The two of them had tons of fun every few minutes doing one of the dance moves, but their favorite part was walking back over to us to get more handfuls of food.
The day of the game, I kept Maycie sleeping until the very last possible second in hopes that she would wake up really happy; I was wrong. She woke up really grumpy, and really shy. When we got to the field, she would not let Mommy or Daddy put her down, and was really sad that Addalie wasn't there. I tried to play games with her and the other girls in her group but she only wanted to stay in my arms and hide her face. There was one or two times where she would be happy for a few minutes but then would turn shy again really quickly. As half time started, I held her in line while we watched the high school dancers go first, and as soon as it was there turn I handed her off to one of the cheerleaders and ran to hide. To my surprise, she took to the cheerleader like a champ. Instead of being shy, Maycie stood right in front and put on a show for the whole audience by making up her own moves or shaking her hips constantly. At the end, all of the parents were coming up to Maycie and telling her how good she did. It was so cute that she was the smallest one out there but had one of the biggest personalities. Maybe she'll want to be a cheerleader like Mommy some day.
Because Maycie did so well at "dance class", we took her, brothers, Uncle Trevor, and Grandma Karen to Orange Leaf afterwards. These were the best pictures I got at Orange Leaf.
'Tis the season
